The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it is illegal to obstruct or impede navigation of others on waterways.

In a news release, the highway patrol reminds boaters to not anchor your vessel in the traveled portion of a river or channel;

— Do not moor or attach your vessel to a buoy, beacon, light or other navigational aid placed on public waters by authorities;

— Do not move, displace or damage any navigational aid; and

— Do not obstruct a pier, wharf, boat ramp or access to any facility.

Also, boaters are prohibited from obstructing or impeding the normal flow of traffic on the waters of this state.
