With the inclement weather the past week, the City of Sedalia plans to close sections of South Park Avenue to the north of West 6th Street to the south of West 7th Street to through traffic periodically from June 6 to June 9. These road closures will be from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. each day. Residents along South Park Avenue will be able to access their driveways during this time.

The City’s contractor will be finishing the installation of storm sewer improvements in the area to reduce over topping of street gutters and curb inlets. Heavy equipment and personnel will be in the area and it was determined the safest alternative is to close the street during this period to through traffic to allow for the work to be completed safely and timely. The below map details the area of the work. Travelers in the area are advised to find an alternate route to their destination.

This work is weather dependent and inclement weather may result in the work being rescheduled to a later date.

The City of Sedalia also plans to close the alley between South Harrison Avenue, South Missouri Avenue, West 6th Street and West 7th Street from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday, June 6, to allow for a garage to be demolished. Residents routinely using the alley for access to garages or backyard parking will need to park on adjacent roadways during this time.
