The Marshall-Saline Development Corporation (MSDC) discussed a recent trip to Manhattan, Kansas, during its meeting on Tuesday, June 7.
The five members that went on the trip included MSDC board members Sandy Hisle and Angy Littrell, MSDC Executive Director Cydney Mayfield, Northern District Commissioner Stephanie Gooden and Missouri Valley College professor Dr. Travis Manroe. The five member team met with Kent Glasscock, President of Kansas State University Innovation Partners and CEO of Homestores, Inc. to discuss topics ranging from downtown revitalization, site selection, entrepreneurship, job growth and private investment.
Mayfield said that setting audacious goals was one of the biggest takeaways from the trip.
Mayfield said reaching these types of goals could take quite a long time, but she believes Marshall and Saline County can accomplish them.
MSDC plans to host Glasscock to further discuss planning and goal-setting in July.
