Charged with felonies after authorities were called to the scene of a reported disturbance on January 28, a Slater man is due in court.

When they arrived, authorities say Scott Douglas Brown was standing the doorway of another person’s apartment holding a  knife with an approximate 12-inch blade in one hand and a claw hammer in the other. Brown was instructed to drop the weapons several times, he didn’t comply. So  authorities say they eventually deployed numerous Tasers and arrested him.

According to court documents, Brown is charged with felonies for unlawful use of a weapon- exhibiting and resisting arrest for a felony. Bond remains at $10,000 cash only.

The court ordered a mental evaluation of Brown on June 2. His next hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8. His preliminary hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, at Saline County Circuit Court.
