The first-ever “Return to the Roost” celebration began with some events on Friday, June 10, in Marshall.

Registration of Marshall High School Alumni took place at the high school on Friday, June 10. As of 4 p.m., unofficially 275 alumni had registered. MHS memorabilia also is on display. Registration will continue from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, in the band room.

Numerous classic cars were signed up to take part in the Rusty Wilder Memorial Cruise. A truck from the Marshall Fire Department led a procession of classic cars, trucks and some motorcycles during the Cruise that began just after 6 p.m.

The bulk of the events are scheduled for Saturday, June 11, including golf at Indian Foothills Park and tennis at MHS and 5K/2K walk that begins at the Salt Fork YMCA in the morning; a Marshall Public Schools’ Retired Teacher Luncheon at noon at Marshall High School; Tent City- individual tents for each class beginning in the 1950s and running through 2021 are scheduled to be set up on the courthouse lawn in the afternoon; a Block Party on the Marshall Square that begins at 4 p.m. Music performances include- Randy Clemons and the Stanhope Rock & Soul Revue takes the stage on the west side of the square at 6 p.m. and Members Only- an 80s/90s Tribute Band at 8:30 p.m.

A “Night Owl” breakfast is planned from 11 :30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. at Bud’s Cafe.
