Two Boonville residents have been arrested and charged with felonies after authorities executed a search warrant in Cooper County on Monday, June 13.

According to a release from Cooper County Sheriff Chris Class, members of the Cooper County Sheriff’s Office and East Central Drug Task Force executed the search warrant at a residence in the 12000 block on Highway 5 after information was obtained of a child being exposed to narcotics. During the investigation, authorities say narcotics, drug paraphernalia, firearms and items used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine were seized.

Deputies also found that the residence where the children were residing was found to be in extremely poor condition, with the children being exposed to not only narcotics but bug infestation. The children inside the residence were removed by Children’s Division and taken to the hospital for examination.

Two adults were arrested and transported to the Cooper County Jail.

According to court documents, 50-year-old James Enden Pipes and 39-year-old Amber Nicole Roth each is charged with three counts of a felony for endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree- no sexual contact, a felony for possession of a controlled substance and a felony for keeping or maintaining a public nuisance. Roth also is charged with a felony for forgery. Bond for each subject is set at $75,000 cash or surety.

An initial hearing for each of the accused is pending at Cooper County Circuit Court.
