Johnson County Clerk Diane Thompson reminds county residents of the deadline to register and be eligible to vote in the upcoming primary election is fast approaching
A news release says the deadline to register is 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, in order to be able to vote in the Tuesday, August 2, Primary Election.
Thompson says if residents have moved from another Missouri County or have moved from another state, the resident will need to register with Johnson County prior to the deadline. Voters moving from one county to another within Missouri are considered a “new registrant”, not an address change.
The In-Person Voter Registration Location is in Warrensburg – the Johnson County Courthouse at the Voter Registration Office.
Mail-in registration cards must be postmarked as of Wednesday, July 6, to be valid for the August 2 Primary Election. Mail-in cards may be used for initial registration, transfer, change of address and name changes.
Voters also may register online at www.sos.mo.gov. Online voter registrations also must be completed by the 5 p.m. July 6 deadline to be eligible to vote in the August 2 Primary Election.
