During a proceeding on Monday, June 13, the court granted a 44-year-old murder suspect’s motion to delay his jury trial.

Charged with murder and other felonies, a Marshall man who was the subject of a manhunt following two shootings nearly three years ago in Saline County will now not go to trial until next year.

Terrelle Palmer is alleged to have shot four people at two different residences. One of the victims died, and three others suffered injuries on October 2, 2019. The shootings led to a citywide lock down. Palmer fled the area, and he was apprehended in Mississippi on October 18.

Court documents say Palmer is charged with first-degree murder; three counts of a felony for assault in the first degree or attempt; burglary in the first degree; endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree; unlawful possession of a firearm; and two counts of armed criminal action. Palmer continues to be held without bond.

Updated court documents say a case review for July 25 and the jury trial from August 8-12 have been pushed back. The new date for a case review has not been set, but the jury trial now is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2023, at Saline County Circuit Court.
