
An active shooter situation that was reported at about 9 a.m. at an area hospital has ended.
According to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, a violent intruder situation had developed there.
Hospital officials said there was an active shooter at the main hospital, and multiple law-enforcement agencies responded. Staff and patients were evacuated.
The Warrensburg Police Department asked the public to avoid the area.
The Warrensburg Parks and Recreation Department says it locked down the nearby Community Center and Aquatic Center pending resolution of the incident.
The highway patrol says a man made a threat toward the hospital, but an armed man was not located. However, a man was taken into custody and transported to the Johnson County Jail. The highway patrol says no shots were fired.
The all clear was given for patients and staff to return to the building.
