
The Warrensburg Fire Department responded to a reported residential structure fire on Sunday, July 10.
According to a press release, crews were dispatched at 3:15 p.m. to the 1200 block of Pebblecreek Drive. First units arrived to find the rear of a two-story duplex with heavy fire involvement.
WFD responded with 21 firefighters, and the Johnson County Fire Protection District responded with six personnel. Other agencies assisting on the scene included the Warrensburg Police Department, Johnson County Ambulance District, Johnson County Volunteer Fire Auxiliary and Evergy.
All occupants of both residential units were able to make it out safely. One firefighter was transported from the scene to Western Missouri Medical Center due to heat-related symptoms. That firefighter was treated and released.
At this time, the cause of the fire is believed to be unintentional in nature.
