
The City of Lincoln recently received a check in the amount of $1,132.14 from the Missouri Public Utilities Commission (MPUC), presented to the City of Lincoln by the Missouri Rural Water Association (MRWA).
According to a press release, the City of Lincoln is a system member of MRWA, the Administrator of the MPUC Interim Loan Program. The MPUC provided the construction funding, which allowed the city of Lincoln to fund- in part, wastewater collection system rehabilitation and a wastewater land application project. The check received by the City of Lincoln from the MPUC is a rebate of interest costs during the construction of the improvements.
Mayor Glen Nelson says “The recent upgrades to our wastewater collection system, and the land application project are the result of years of effort by many local, state and federal agencies. Our present and past Mayor and Board of Aldermen should be proud of their accomplishment. This new upgraded system will serve our community for many years.”
Mayor Nelson also thanked all those who brought this project to completion and gave special recognition to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Development – particularly to USDA-RD Loan Specialist Melody Roach for her tireless assistance and for making this project affordable to the city residents. Additionally, Mayor Nelson thanked the public finance firm D.A. Davidson & Co. for its work on the structuring and managing of the loan.
