
Dwain Hall, age 83, of Marshall, died Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at his home.
Memorial graveside services with military rites will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Ridge Park Cemetery with William W. Harlow officiating. There is no visitation. Born September 21, 1938, in Buncombe, IL, he was the son of the late Roy Gene Hall and Marjorie Burklow Hall Cochran. Dwain graduated from high school in Granite City, IL in 1956, and then served two years in the United States Marine Corps. After being honorably discharged, Dwain moved to Marshall to attend Missouri Valley College and earned his bachelor’s degree in education in 1962. On July 14, 1962 he married Joyce “Fly” Laxson who preceded him in death on March 31, 2021. Dwain taught and coached football and wrestling at various schools throughout Missouri and then returned to Marshall in the early 1970’s. Upon returning to Marshall he owned and operated Hall-Mach Athletic, which later became Viking Athletic Goods, until his retirement, and was a member of First Christian Church. Dwain was a lifelong sports fan and loved his children and grandchildren very much.
Survivors include two daughters, Paige Clouse (Greg) and Courtney Hall (Pat Bryan), all of Marshall; four grandchildren: Kaitlin McDaniel, Garrett Clouse, Lukas Jakubin and Aidan Jakubin; one brother, Ron Hall (Jayne) of Kearney; as well as nieces and nephews.
Dwain was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one daughter, Julie Jakubin.
