A Sedalia woman charged with multiple felonies after authorities responded to the report of shots fired on May 17 is due in court.
A Sedalia Police report says officers responded to the 2500 block of East 9th Street, and a 57-year-old man told authorities he had been shot at multiple times by another person he knew.
According to officers, when they arrived, the suspect was no longer shooting and had barricaded herself inside the residence. Officers were able to de-escalate the situation, and Victoria Mae McWilliams was arrested and transported to Pettis County Jail.
Although not injured, authorities say the victim did have a bullet hole in his shirt.
According to court documents, McWilliams is charged with felonies for discharging a firearm at a person, domestic assault in the first degree and armed criminal action. Bond remains at $250,000 cash or surety.
McWilliams waived her preliminary hearing, and her case was bound over to the trial division on June 27. Her lawyer filed a motion for change of venue on July 3. A motion hearing is scheduled to be held at 9 a.m. Friday, July 22, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
