A 54-year-old Waverly man died from injuries he suffered after an accident in Johnson County on Thursday, July 21.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred as Burnie Jordan fell out of the bed of a southbound truck and struck the pavement.

Jordan was flown by Life Flight helicopter to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, where he was pronounced deceased by Dr. Kyle Harken at 9:29 a.m.

The truck was driven by 40-year-old Robert Long, of Kansas City. No other injuries were reported from the scene of the accident.

The accident happened at 7:48 a.m. on Missouri Highway 13, one-quarter of a mile north of Southeast 650 Road.
