The USDA announced in April that the waivers for school districts to provide free breakfast and lunch for all children under the age of 18 would expire June 30, 2022.

According to a release from Concordia R-2 Superintendent Theresa Christian, as of now, the waiver has not been reinstated, and the district does not anticipate a waiver being approved.

Therefore, any student who is eligible for reduced-fee breakfast and lunch and students who pay full price for breakfast and lunch will be required to pay for meals during the 2022-23 school year. The district encourages every family to apply for free or reduced meals, and the application forms will be sent home at the beginning of the school year.

The district will follow the eligibility guidelines to determine which students are eligible for free or reduced breakfast and lunch.

The meal prices for the school year have been approved and are:

K-6: Breakfast $1.85 and Lunch $2.40

7-12: Breakfast $2 and Lunch $2.50

Adult: Breakfast $2.65 and Lunch $3.50

Extra Milk: 40 cents.

If you have any questions about breakfast and lunch prices for the 2022-2023 school year, contact your student’s building for more information.
