
During the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, July 21, County Clerk Debbie Russell gave some important information regarding the upcoming primary election on Tuesday, August 2.
Russell says poll workers will go through a training session the day prior to the election.
Russell said a bipartisan team will come in and certify the election results on Friday, August 5. She said that process starts at 1:30 p.m. and will last approximately two hours.
In addition, Russell said the county clerk’s office already has received some funds from the state regarding the election.
Absentee voting currently is being accepted at the county clerk’s office during regular business hours through 5 p.m. Monday, August 1. Russell said special hours for absentee voting at her office will be from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 30.
