
Charlene Bredehoeft, age 87, of Sweet Springs, died Monday, July 25, 2022, at Good Shepherd Care Community in Concordia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Emma, with Pastor Jacob Mueller officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the church. Born February 19, 1935, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Charley Hemme and Frances Ruth Roscher Hemme. Charlene lived in the Sweet Springs area most of her life and was a 1953 graduate of Sweet Springs High School. On June 26, 1954, she married Wallace Bredehoeft who survives of the home. While her children were young, Charlene was a homemaker and enjoyed helping them in their activities, including being a Girl Scout leader. Once the kids were older she attended beauty school in Sedalia and then owned and operated her beauty shop, Charlene’s Beauty Shop. Charlene was active in the community and was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and Blackburn American Legion Auxiliary.
In addition to her husband, Wallace; she is survived by two children, Stanley Bredehoeft of Sweet Springs and Vicki Meyer (Ron) of rural Sweet Springs; four grandchildren: Jim Meyer (Jennifer), Jon Meyer (Robin), Mark Meyer (Beth) and Mallory Petersen (Chris); 12 great-grandchildren; one sister Wilma Krause of Kansas; two brothers, Ronnie Hemme of Independence and John O. Hemme of Buckner; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
In addition to her parents, Charlene was preceded in death by her stepmother, Louella Sims Hemme.
