The Saline County Commission discussed the allocation of money for the assessor’s office during its meeting on Thursday, August 18.
During a previous meeting, an attorney representing Saline County Assessor Jessica Goodman explained that the her office was supposed to receive 1 percent of the total Saline County tax revenue. Ivan Schraeder, an attorney representing the county commission, said the issue has been referred to the attorney general’s office.
Joshua Sieg, Goodman’s attorney, said there is an attorney general opinion from 1991 on the issue, so there is precedent. Schraeder said he was going to continue to wait for the attorney general’s decision.
Neither side came to an agreement.
