A 22-year-old Slater man is facing felony charges after an alleged incident involving a 14-year-old juvenile.

According to a report from the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, Latrell Antonio Johnson is accused of forcibly raping a 14-year-old girl on more than one occasion.

The victim completed a Child Forensic Interview at Child Safe in Sedalia on August 4. During the interview, the alleged victim claimed, that while she was attending a party with her father on July 4 at Johnson’s home, Johnson allegedly grabbed her by the arm and escorted her into a bedroom near the back of the home. The girl claims that Johnson then locked the bedroom door, undressed himself before pushing her down on the bed. According to the victim, Johnson then undressed her and forcibly raped her. When the victim tried to scream, she claims Johnson placed his hand over her mouth.

Allegedly Johnson came to the home of the victim’s father home on July 5 and picked her up in his vehicle to take her to an appointment in Marshall. The victim claims that while traveling from Slater to Marshall, Johnson allegedly touched her inappropriately.

The alleged victim also reported, during the interview that Johnson was at her father’s home on July 10 to watch the father’s fiancé’s small children.  During that time, the victim claims that she rode with Johnson to the store and then back to her father’s home in Slater where he parked his car. Johnson then, allegedly, sat the victim on his lap while seated in the vehicle, pulled her clothing down and forcibly raped her.

According to the report, on August 18, Johnson voluntarily came into the Saline County Sheriff’s Office to provide a statement. During his interview, Johnson reportedly admitted to having sexual intercourse with the victim during the month of July, but denied that there was any force or coercion and that the sexual intercourse between Johnson and the alleged victim was consensual. Johnson also admitted, during the interview, that he knew the victim was 14-years-old.  Johnson also claims he only had sexual intercourse with the victim one time and that was at her home.

Johnson is charged with a felony for Statutory Rape in the Second Degree. He is being held on $15,000 cash only bond, with conditions. Johnson’s initial court appearance is pending.
