Missouri Valley College President Dr. Bonnie Humphrey has announced that the college has received a $655,000 challenge grant from the Mabee Foundation.

This grant is contingent on the college raising the remaining fundraising portion of $380,940, by July 12, 2023.

A news release says this funding will be used to help build a new six million dollar nursing and health sciences building on the Missouri Valley campus. The building plans include a 16,300 square foot facility, designed to be used for not only nursing classes, but to also be available for health-related programs that will be developed in the future.

“The Mabee Foundation is very generous in their support of capital projects at private colleges and universities in the Midwest,” said Dr. Humphrey. “On behalf of the Missouri Valley College community, I am grateful to the Mabee Foundation for their support in the form of a challenge grant for the construction of the new nursing and health sciences building.”

A $1,200,000 dollar gift from Don and the late Julie Julien serves as the lead gift for this new building. Once the Mabee Foundation challenge grant has been met, and with other grants and donor gifts, over $5,900,000 will be secured for this building project, according to MVC.
