The closure of Missouri Route 129 in Chariton County, 0.5 miles south of Route O near Salisbury, for a bridge deck replacement project has been postponed.
The prime contractor for the project has notified the Missouri Department of Transportation that Route 129 will now close Monday, September 12, at the bridge over the Chariton River, instead of Monday, August 29, as previously planned.
The bridge is expected to reopen before the Thanksgiving Day holiday. During the closure, traffic will be routed over a signed detour on U.S. Route 24, Route 5 and Route O.
All work is weather dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
