Barbara Ann Worley

1930 – 2022

Barbara Ann Worley, age 92, former New Franklin resident, passed away August 24, 2022 at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove.

Barbara was born on March 4, 1930 a daughter of William Oser, Sr., and Rose Ginter Oser.  She married Donald J. Worley in New Franklin on February 6, 1951.  Barbara was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Boonville.  Prior to retirement she was employed as a cook at the Silver Liner’s Senior Center in New Franklin and at Artex in Boonville.  She was very active with the State School in Boonville and with Unlimited Opportunities.  Barbara enjoyed cooking, gardening and was an animal lover.  As long as she was able, she was the caregiver for her daughter Theresa.

Survivors include two daughters, Theresa Worley of Boonville and Helen Hickam and husband, Jeff of Lone Elm; two grandchildren, Joshua and Eli Hickam and three great-grandchildren, Jasper, Kinsley and Kasey Hickam.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; two sisters, Anna Marie and Wilhelmina Oser and by seven brothers, Henry, William, Lawrence, Joseph, Robert, Bernard and Walter Oser.

Services honoring Barbara’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, August 29 at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin with Father Mark Smith officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Boonville.
