The Salisbury Board of Education amended the district tax rate during its meeting on Friday, August 26.

In action taken by the board, the 2022-23 district tax rate was amended to $1.7197 going to capital projects fund four and $2.7500 going towards the incident fund one, for a total of $4.4697. The motion was approved unanimously.

A board member talked about an applicant requesting money in lieu of insurance. Salisbury currently offers health insurance to all bus drivers regardless of hours worked. The board member stated he will check with another school and also legality will be checked.

In executive session, the board approved Kurtis Estes as a sub bus driver and the board accepted a retirement letter by Vyonne Rice effective August 31.
