Norm Lucas from the Pioneer Trails Regional Planning Commission was on hand at the Saline County Commission to give a report on a $1,600,000 grant from the Economic Development Administration (EDA)to Saline County for a visitors center at Marshall Junction.
Lucas reported on the grant.
Lucas went on to say that a local farmer had provided land for the site.
The commissioners have scheduled to sign paperwork on the project in the next few weeks.
Lucas also stated that the commission was already planning to provide wastewater treatment to Marshall Junction using ARPA funds.
According to Lucas, the center will be able to show tourists all the attractions that rural Missouri has to offer.
