The Saline County Health Department provided an update on COVID-19 vaccines in Saline County.

mRNA COVID-19 vaccines are no longer authorized for use as boosters in people ages 12 years and older, per the CDC guidelines. The Saline County Health Department says it has ordered the required booster, but the vaccine has not been received at this time.

SCHD Administrator Tara Brewer says the update will cause changes for the health department over the next few weeks.

Brewer said the department hopes to have the new vaccine available at the next vaccination clinic on the Missouri Valley College Campus, which is scheduled for September 15.
