The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works approved the MMU annual budget for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 during its meeting on Thursday, September 1.

MMU General Manager Jeff Bergstrom said there are no rate increases proposed in the budget.

The budget is set to be presented to the Marshall City Council during its next scheduled meeting. The next Marshall City Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 6.

In other news from the meeting, Bergstrom recommended that the board renew its agreement with the Marshall-Saline Development Corporation for economic development. As part of the agreement, MMU pays MSDC $30,000 annually in exchange for MSDC’s economic development efforts. The agreement is slated to expire September 30, but is automatically renewed unless the board decides to terminate it.Automatic renewal will continue to fund the agreement through September 30, 2023.
