A 31-year-old Sweet Springs man was arrested on Wednesday, August 31, for four felony charges.

According to a probable cause statement, on January 3, the Western Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force (WMCCTF) was notified by Cybertip that 36 child pornographic videos had been uploaded to an email used by Kody McNail. A WMCCTF officer conducted surveillance on McNail’s house in July and August. On August 23, the officer applied for a search warrant for the residence. The officer then again conducted surveillance on the residence on August 29 and conducted a search of the premises.

On August 31, two detectives from the WMCCTF and the Saline County Sheriff’s Department served a search warrant to McNail. McNail was arrested and charged with a felony for promoting child pornography and three counts of possession of child pornography. Bond is set at $20,000 cash only. Additional charges are being reviewed by the Saline County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

No court proceeding have been scheduled at this point.
