The Sweet Springs School Board met recently and approved several items.

The board approved the bus routes for 2022-23, special education local compliance plan, return to learn plan and conflict resolution plan for 2022-2024.

The board approved the tax levy to be set at $4.0394 for the 2022-23 school year.

Kristen Fenner, Sweet Springs Ag Teacher presented the board with bids for updates and construction for the greenhouse. The total bid was $250,320, with $101,800 going to Hummert International for buliding materials and $148,520 going to Jamison Construction Company for the construction of the project. The board approved the total cost of the project.

The board then went into executive session and approved the hiring of Kevin Hicks as assistant baseball coach and the resignation of Elizabeth Fuehring effective August 31, with the exception of staying through September 30 on a part-time basis. The board voted to hire Taryn Lee as school nurse for the 2022-2023 school year, also to include summer school.

The board also approved a list of substitutes.
