Chariton County Route TT is scheduled to close soon.

A news release says the Missouri Department of Transportation contracted a company to complete a bridge deck replacement project at the bridge over Turkey Creek, approximately 1 mile east of Route 139. The Turkey Creek Bridge was built in 1961 and carries approximately 45 vehicles per day. The bridge deck is in poor condition and in need of replacement.

The contractor plans to close the route at the bridge to all traffic on Monday, September 19. The bridge is expected to reopen by the end of November. During the closure, traffic will need to use an alternate route.

All work is weather dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
