
Guardrail repairs will close both directions of Chariton County U.S. Route 24 east of Brunswick on Tuesday night, September 13, at the site of the Palmer Creek Bridge deck replacement project.
Contractors working with the Missouri Department of Transportation will close U.S. Route 24 to all traffic beginning at 11 p.m. Tuesday, September 13.They expect to reopen the road by 4 a.m. Wednesday, September 14.
Signs will be in place at Route Y to the west and Route MM to the east to alert drivers of the road closure. During the closure, motorists must use an alternate route.
When the roadway reopens Wednesday morning, the Palmer Creek Bridge deck replacement project will resume, and traffic will be narrowed to one lane at the bridge. Temporary traffic signals will be in place. The bridge deck replacement project is expected to continue through the end of November.
All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
