The Lexington Police Department was advised by the School District on a possible threat to the High School on Tuesday, September 13.

A release says the Lexington Police Department used every resource available to investigate the accusations. The Police Department and the School placed security measures in place to ensure the safety of the staff and students.

A suspect was identified immediately and officers responded to that residence and made contact with the person in question. It was then determined that the threat was not directed at the High School or anyone affiliated with the schools.
The School Resource Officer remained at the schools the rest of the day to ensure that everyone was safe and there was no further action needed by the department. At no time were the students in any danger and no lock down procedures were needed.
