
Missouri Valley College student-athletes were recognized by the NAIA as 2021-22 Daktronics Scholar Athlete Award winners. A total of 94 student-athletes were recognized, setting a new athletic department record.
A news release says eligible student-athletes must have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA, have been eligible and competed in their respective sport, completed their sophomore year of academic coursework and enrolled at Missouri Valley for at least one full academic year.
Leading all programs was the women’s soccer team, with 19 individuals recognized on the Scholar Athlete Award list, second-most of any women’s soccer program in the NAIA. The top men’s program was the men’s soccer team with seven individuals recognized. Women’s volleyball and competitive dance both finished with seven honorees, respectively. In all, 21 athletic programs competing in NAIA sanctioned sports placed at least one student-athlete on the 2021-22 Scholar Athlete Award list, with 17 programs placing multiple individuals on the list.
The 94 student-athletes recognized for the 2021-22 academic year sets a new school record, surpassing the 2020-21 total of 91 student-athletes. You can view the full list of athletes here.
