The Higginsville Board of Aldermen approved several street closure requests during its meeting on Monday, September 27.

The board considered street closure requests from several upcoming activities in October. The board approved a request from Lafayette County C-1 School to close Main Street, from 15th Street to 22nd Street, for the Homecoming Parade from 1:45 to 2:30 p.m.on Friday, October 7. The parade is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.

The board also approved a street closure request from the Chamber of Commerce to close Main Street, from 18th Street to 22nd Street, for its Halloween Spooktacular event that is scheduled to be held on Monday, October 31. The board approved the request between the hours of 5 to 6:45 p.m. The board then approved a street closure request from the Grace United Methodist Church and Salem United Church of Christ to close 15th Street between Main Street and Walnut Street for its Trunk or Treat event, set to be held on October 31. The request was approved between the hours of 4:45 to 6:45 p.m.

In other news from the meeting, the board approved agreements with public entities in Lafayette County for emergency dispatch services.
