Betty Howery, 81, of Marshall, MO, died Sunday, October 2, 2022, at the Good Shepherd Care Community in Concordia, MO.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Union Cemetery in Saline County, MO. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association or Union Baptist Church in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Born September 3, 1941, in Osage, MO, she was the daughter of the late Louis Adam Yates and Katherine Mahala Branson Yates. She lived in Saline County most of her life and attended Marshall Public Schools. On July 27, 1959, she married Van Raymond Howery who preceded her in death on October 29, 2016. Betty worked at the Marshall Habilitation Center. She loved her family and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and making ceramic statues.

Survivors include two grandchildren, Samuel Louis Howery and Rebecca Ann Howery of Nelson, MO; daughter-in-law, Lora Howery of Nelson; one brother, Wesley Richard Yates of Tampa, FL; sister-in-law, Margaret Oehlschlaeger of Grain Valley, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by one son, Van Michael (Mike) Howery; one brother, Alvin Yates; and three sisters, Berniece Foote, Dorothy Hoke and Lois Dice.
