Lyra Anne Rupprecht, 88, of Sedalia, went to meet her Savior on Monday, October 3, 2022.

 

Lyra was born in St. Mary’s, PA on January 5, 1934, a daughter of the late Ambrose J. and Cleopha M. Siecker Auman. She graduated from Central High School in St. Mary’s, PA in 1951.

 

She moved to Sedalia in 1973 and was an Insurance Representative for 33 years. She owned and operated Lyra’s Ceramic Shop on Sacajawea Road for several years. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Daughter’s of Isabella for over 40 years, Women of the Moose, American Business Women’s Association, AARP Sedalia Chapter 660. She also volunteered with Birthright, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Meals on Wheels and as a caregiver.

 

Surviving are a son, Michael A. Rupprecht and companion Jeannie Braswell, a daughter, Lisa M. Pabst (Thomas) all of Sedalia; three grandchildren, Nicole Batson of Columbia, MO, James M. Rupprecht (Melissa) of Bartlesville, OK and Danielle Lebel (Ronald) of California, MO; five great-grandchildren, Isaac Ripprecht, Brooklyn Batson, Carson Lebel, Isabella Rupprecht and Trynleigh Lebel; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Lyra was a beloved mother and grandmother who devoted her life to taking care of her family and making sure they were loved. She loved animals and had many dogs in her lifetime which were a special family. She was extremely proud of designing and helping her son build her new home.

 

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Frank Auman in 1990; and a brother and sister in infancy.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the Sacred Heart Chapel of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Mass Intentions to St. Vincent de Paul, or memorial contributions to Birthright or Meals on Wheels, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
