
Judith M. “Judy” Klasing, 80, of rural Slater, MO, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at her home, when God called her to her eternal home, after a courageous fight with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshall with Pastor William Voelker officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Pallbearers will be: Drew Budner, Megan Klasing, William Klasing, Brian Klasing, Lewis Fleak, and Noah Leimkuehler. Honorary pallbearers will be: Larry Klasing, Sam Fleak, Herb Scherer, Vernon Miller, Ron Burfeind, and Jerry Weber. Memorials are suggested to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or Canon Cancer Center at Bothwell Hospital, both in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Judy was born on March 4, 1942, in Pueblo, Colorado, to Ernest and Dorothy Dahlquist Stoehr. She graduated from Concordia Teacher’s College in Seward, NE with a bachelor’s degree in education and a minor in music. She later earned her master’s degree from Lindenwood College. On July 1, 1972, she married James E. “Jim” Klasing, who preceded her in death on April 4, 2021. Judy was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church where she was an organist and pianist. She was active in Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, the bell choir and vocal choir, teaching, and many other areas of ministry. She was a retired teacher and farmer, being a co-owner of Klasing Brothers Farms.
She is survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Cheryl Klasing of rural Slater; four nephews: Matt Budner, Drew Budner (Heather) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, William Klasing (Lindsey) of Marshall, and Brian Klasing of rural Slater; two nieces, Alicia Egan (Jason) of Yakima, Washington, and Megan Klasing of Austin, Texas; three great-nephews: Corbin and Aiden Budner and Jasper Egan; two great-nieces, Lillian Egan and Adelyn Klasing; several cousins; and her comfort dog, Gizmo.
In addition to her parents and husband, Judy was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Budner.
