The Sweet Springs Board of aldermen approved several motions during its meeting on Monday, October 10.

The first motion was the Transient Guest Tax Application for the 2023 year. City Clerk Michelle Fuehring stated that she needed permission to put the applications out for pick up. Fuehring asked if they were any changes to be made to the application and no changes were made. The motion was approved unanimously.

Sweet Springs Chamber of Commerce President Tara Brewer was present to discuss the Lighted Christmas Tree Parade. The event takes place at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 26. Brewer stated that the Chamber had an idea of playing a movie. Brewer also stated that she would like to close Miller Street for the parade and then leave the south end closed for a meet and greet and a movie. The motion to close Miller Street from Lexington Street to Turner Street was unanimously approved.
