The Boonville City Council approved the purchase of police radios for the Boonville Police during its meeting on Monday, October 17.
City Administrator Kate Fjell stated the radios were approximately $285, 000.
Fjell also stated that the council approved a road salt purchase for the upcoming winter months from Central Salt out of Lyons, Kansas.
The low bid was in the amount of $86.41 per ton.
The council also heard the first reading on amending ward boundaries in the city. Fjell stated that every ten years with a new census, ward boundaries need to be assessed to give equal representation. The state requires no more than a ten percent deviation in the population of the wards. Fjell stated the resolution would go to a second and third reading at the next city council meeting to allow for public comments.
