Several Bueker Middle School students competed in the 2022 Mary and Ted Forbes Middle School Science and Math Competition at Central Methodist University on Tuesday, October 18.

Bueker Middle School had two teams of three in the event and three alternates. Several Middle Schools from the local area competed.

The competition had two components, a Knowledge Event and a Performance Event.

The Knowledge Event focused on teams answering grade-appropriate math and science questions. All teams competed against each other. There were three rounds of sixteen questions.

The Performance Event involved building a mouse trap car. The winner was the car that traveled the farthest distance. Each team was given two opportunities to run their car, with the greater of the two distances being used for the team’s score.

The team of Tyler Brooks, Marlee Fuchs and Teddy Papreck placed first in the competition. The other team from Bueker included Ayson Bolling, Kellin Fann and Kane Viquesney. Alternates were Margaret Linsenbardt, Thomas Papreck and Kye Wilcoxson. Coaches for the competition were Kathy Papreck and Jennifer Wilcoxson.
