Gregory L. “Greg” Hays, 70, of Slater, died Sunday, October 23, 2022 at his home.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 31, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Slater. Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. at the church.  Memorials are suggested to the Fish Creek Cemetery Association in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.

Born October 4, 1952 in Marshall, he was the son of the late Guy F.

“Bucky” Hays, Jr., and Betty G. Thompson Hays, who survives of Slater. On March 12, 1991 in Slater, he married Debbie Pycke, and she preceded him in death on November 29, 2018.

He is survived by two daughters, Deanna Giger and Alisha McGary, both of Slater; a grandson, Gabriel White; a brother, Rick Hays and his wife Connie of Slater; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Scott Hays.

Mr. Hays was a member of the First Baptist Church in Slater.  He was a

1970 graduate of Slater High School and attended State Fair Community College in Sedalia.  He worked in the Shipping Department at BHA, GE, and Parker Hannifin for thirty-five years until his retirement.  He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and playing golf, and was President of the Fish Creek Cemetery Association.
