A 20-year-old Sedalia man has been charged with three felonies in Pettis County.

According to a probable cause statement, on October 23, two female employees at the Comfort Inn in Sedalia reported Justin Rogers allegedly was outside the hotel touching himself.

An employee of the Murphy Gas Station at Wal-Mart reported to a Sedalia Police Officer that Rogers was allegedly touching and then rubbing himself outside the gas station. Videotape from the premises appeared to show Rogers.

The Police Officer proceeded to Walmart in hopes of locating the subject. At Wal-Mart the officer was contacted by another victim who stated the Rogers had approached her driver’s side door and allegedly began to inappropriately touch himself. The officer showed a photo from the Murphy Gas Station and the victim identified Rogers in the photo.

Officers contacted the Sedalia School District Resource Officer and asked if he recognized the photo. The Resource Officer reported that he did. Police discovered that Rogers is on the sex offender registry for sexual misconduct.

Two Sedalia Police Officers proceeded to a room at the Motel 6 on October 24, 2022 and located Rogers. Officers placed him under arrest. Rogers admitted to being at the Comfort Inn, as well as Murphy and Walmart on the previous day, but denied exposing himself at any point.

Rogers was charged with three counts of felony harassment and a misdemeanor for sexual misconduct. Bond was set at $15,000 cash or surety.

Rogers was arraigned on October 25. He has a counsel status hearing scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 8 at Pettis County Circuit Court.
