Clarice H. Dove, 90, of Green Ridge, died Thursday, November 3, 2022 at her home.
She was born August 4, 1932 in Montrose, MO a daughter of the late Clarence F. and Helen M. Witmer Mettler. On April 19, 1958 in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Ralph E. Dove, who preceded her in death on July 7, 2000.
Clarice lived most of her life in Sedalia and Green Ridge. She was a 1950 graduate of Sacred Heart School. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish and attended Mass at the Sacred Heart Chapel. Clarice loved to quilt and was a member of the Sacred Heart Quilting Circle. She also enjoyed reading and baking and was famous for her delicious chocolate chip cookies. Clarice and Ralph spent 42 wonderful years together and enjoyed each other’s company on the many trips they took over the years. She loved the family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Clarice was strong in her faith and began each day watching Mass on EWTN and praying the Rosary for her family and friends.
She is survived by three sons, Joe Dove (Jeannine), Bill Dove (Connie) and Sam Dove (Nancey) all of Green Ridge; three daughters, Sue Walker of Sedalia, Julie Sobaski (Steve) of Sedalia and Nancy Von Holten (Bryan) of Cole Camp; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Simon and Mary Louise Dove both of Sedalia; 15 grandchildren, Nicholas Walker, Mackenzie Walker, Ryan Dove, Logan Dove, Aaron Dove, Emily Dove, D. J. Greener, Taylor Sullivan, Ciara Volker, MaKayla Schmidt, Olivia Sobaski, Claire Sobaski, Libby Angle, Matthew Von Holten and Chelsie Castillo; and 7 great-grandchildren, Brielee, Baylor, Connley, Hudson, Isaac, Callie and Jocelyn.
She was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Shania Greener; and two sisters, Cherry Grimes and Carol Warakomski.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, November 7, 2022 at the Sacred Heart Chapel of St. Vincent de Paul with Father Joe Corel officiating. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Walker, Ryan Dove, Logan Dove, D.J. Greener, Matthew Von Holten and Taylor Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers will be Makenzie Walker, Libby Angle, Emily Dove, Chelsie Castillo, Ciara Volker, MaKayla Schmidt, Olivia Sobaski and Claire Sobaski. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Prayers of the Rosary will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2022 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, with visitation to follow until 7:30 p.m.
The family suggests memorial donation be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Green Ridge Chamber of Commerce, or the Show-Me Christian Youth Home, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
