A Marshall man found guilty of felony abuse of a child is scheduled to be sentenced.

According to a probable cause statement, Charles Estes physically abused a 3-week-old baby. Authorities were contacted by an employee of the Saline County Children’s Division on April 25, 2020. The baby had bruising on its temple and left cheek, appearing to authorities as if the baby had been grabbed by the face and squeezed.

According to court documents, a three day jury trial in Saline County Circuit Court delivered a verdict of guilty of the charge on September 21, 2022.

A $50,000 cash only bond was set.

The sentencing hearing is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Monday, November 7 at Saline County Circuit Court.
