The Marshall City Council approved an ordinance prohibiting parking on certain streets in its meeting on Monday, November 7, 2022.

The council determined that certain streets were deemed too narrow for parking. The affected streets include:

-the east side of Salt Pond Avenue from Arrow to College Street.
-the west side of Miami Avenue from Arrow Street to Vest Street.
-the west side of English Avenue from Arrow Street to Vest Street.
-the west side of High Street from Miami Avenue to English Avenue.
-the south side of Hanie Street from English Avenue to Jefferson Avenue and on the north side of Hanie Street from English Avenue to a point 150 feet east of English Avenue.
-the south side of Ohio Street from English Avenue to Lafayette Avenue and on the north side of Ohio Street from English Avenue to a point 150 feet east of English Avenue.

The city will be posting signs on the new prohibited parking areas.

The council unanimously approved the amended ordinance.

In other news from the meeting, the council approved the first reading to execute a contract between the City of Marshall and Weber Seeds, LLC for property located on West Vest Street.
