Walter H. Dittmar, 87, of Fort Worth, Texas, died Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at his home.

 

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 11:00 A.M.

at First Baptist Church in Slater, with Rev. Paul List and Terry Jordan officiating.  Inurnment will be in Slater City Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the church.  Memorials are suggested to the donor’s local V.F.W. Post in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.

 

Born December 5, 1934 in Clay Center, Kansas, he was the son of the late Rev. Harvey Dittmar and Maggie Noel Dittmar.

 

He is survived by his wife Gloria Dittmar of the home; two sons, Mark Dittmar and his wife Michelle of Marshall, and Joshua Dittmar of Eldon; a daughter, Jenny Jordan and her husband Terry of Slater; a stepson, Jeff Naquin and his wife Lee Ann of Arlington, Texas; a stepdaughter, Karen Hale and her husband Ken of Ohio; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a son, Gary; and infant daughter; two brothers, Robert and Donald; and two sisters, Vera and Marie.

 

Mr. Dittmar was a graduate of Weatherford High School in Weatherford, Oklahoma.  He was a U.S. Army veteran, and retired after thirty-eight years as a Seargent-Major.  Following his retirement, he continued to teach as an instructor for many years.  He worked as an automobile insurance adjuster in later years.
