A group of Marshall Public School students competed in the 2022 Dr. Harold Momberg High School Math and Science Competition held at Central Methodist University on Tuesday, November 8. One of the MPS teams placed second in the competition.

The MPS Red Team finished second. The team was made up of Matthew Robbins, Karsyn Fuchs, and Eliza Papreck. The team also received a $750/year (renewable for four years) scholarship to CMU for the second place finish.

MPS also had another team made up of Holly Huston, Nick Shireman, and Drew Wilson. MPS also had Michelle Lin, James Allen, and Bryan Orozco as alternates.

The 2022 Dr. Harold Momberg High School Math and Science Competition is an opportunity for students to showcase their abilities and meet other high school students as well as the current science, math, and computer science faculty, staff, and students of Central Methodist University. The competition has two components a Knowledge Event and a Performance Event. The overall team scores are a calculated combination of the scores for the two events. All teams (even from the same school) will compete against each other simultaneously in the events.
