
The Salisbury Board of Education met on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 and discussed electric buses and the concession stand.
Superintendent Tony Whiston gave a three-minute slide show on electric buses. Transportation Director Troy Billue, who had visited Knox County Schools to observe electric buses, explained the pros and cons that could happen within the school district plus savings on some issues and not on others. Board member Don Wyatt moved to seek bids for the buses. The Board approved the motion unanimously.
Discussion was held on bids received for the concession stand. Board member Don Wyatt moved to amend an approve a check payable to Perter, Berendzen and Associates in the amount of $47,675.00 for their services that were provided but rejected all bids fo the stand.
In other news from the meeting, the Board approved an additional bus route agreement as presented for the fall semester. The Board also voted to offer a contract to Alyssa Kothe to the position of Special Education Teacher beginning in January 2023.
