shellie-thieman

Earth lost an incredible person and Mother Nature gained the kindest soul.

Shellie (Foster) Thieman, 61, passed away in her home on Saturday, November 19, 2022, surrounded by her four children and husband of 35 years.

Shellie was born on July 21, 1961, in Hayward, California, to Samuel Foster Sr. and Beverly (Gallego) Foster who survive. In 1986, Shellie moved to Blue Springs, Missouri. Through great luck during a visit to the Lake of the Ozark, she met the love of her life, J. Kevin Thieman. They married in August of 1987.

Shellie had a self-proclaimed gypsy soul. She lived her life to the fullest and tried to enjoy every moment she could. She was loud, loved big and had a grand sense of adventure. Shellie was able to pull Kevin away from their farm in Concordia, Missouri for vacations to explore the mountains of Colorado, pits of the Grand Canyon, lights of Las Vegas, rainbows of Hawaii and so many more destinations.

Along with her passion for adventure, Shellie loved her jeep, the farm and all its animals, and loading all the kids up to catch a Royals game. Those who knew Shellie tell of her warmth, her light, her welcoming smile, and contagious laugh. She shared her heart, and her love shows in every person she held dear.

Shellie is survived by her husband, Kevin Thieman; three sons, Eric Thieman, Christopher Thieman, Garrett Thieman with his wife Ashley (Corum) Thieman and daughter, Valerie (Thieman) Smith with her husband Pete Smith; her parents, Samuel Sr. & Beverly Foster; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Sam Jr. and Jennifer Foster, and Andy and Kris Foster; her grandchildren, Corey Thieman, and Owen and Madison Thieman; and a slew of the best nieces and nephews imaginable. All of whom she loved and touched deeply.

Shellie was preceded in death by her sister, Sandy (Foster) Gehrken.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home, 1002 E. 1st, Concordia Missouri. There will be a small family service following visitation and then a Celebration of Life coming this summer (Shellie was not a winter fan). Memorials are suggested to family choice.
