Rebecca Lynn Gwaltney, 61, of Malta Bend, MO, died Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, MO.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Malta Bend Cemetery, with Pastor Ralph Varner officiating. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born July 14, 1961, in Fort Worth, TX, she was the daughter of the late John Warga and Carolyn Sue Frazee Warga who survives of Springfield, Ohio.  She received an associate degree in theatrical design from State Fair Community College in Sedalia and later attended Indian Hill Community College studying landscaping and master gardening. On March 1, 1982, she married Billy F. Gwaltney who preceded her in death on October 22, 2007. She was a homemaker and a master gardener. She had lived in Malta Bend for 18 years, moving from Moravia, IA and was a devoted member of Malta Bend United Methodist Church where she was very active. She enjoyed gardening and hunting.

Survivors include one daughter, Sarah Finley (Joshua Theiss) of Columbia, MO, one son, William Gwaltney of Kansas City, MO; two grandchildren, Eleanor Finley and Odin Theiss; one brother, Steve (Linda) Warga of the state of Pennsylvania; several nieces and nephews; and many beloved friends, especially her dear friend, Roseann Malter of Malta Bend.
