Joyce A. Poffinberger, 73, of Marshall, MO, died Thursday, November 24, 2022, at The Living Center in Marshall.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Marshall Family Worship Center with Mark Gooden officiating.  Inurnment will follow in Sunset Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church.  Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born September 26, 1949, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Lester Andrew Poffinberger and Georgia Lee McCallister Poffinberger.  She lived in Saline County her entire life and was a 1967 graduate of Marshall High School.  Joyce attended the Electronic Computer Programming Institute where she earned a degree in IBM Data Processing and 360 Computer Programming.  She also graduated from Missouri Valley College in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.  Joyce loved people and worked as a home health aide for several years.  She enjoyed traveling, which she was able to do more of the last three years with her friend, James Samson; as well as enjoying reading and caring for cats.

Joyce is survived by her “adopted” Samson family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Katheryn Sue Poffinberger.
